At the beginning of each year, we look at the Pantone’s Color of the Year as a source for design inspiration. This year, the Pantone Color Institute® has chosen two different shades to share the title; Rose Quartz (muted shade of pink) and Serenity (muted blue). These two pastels are more subdued than previous color choices, such as Marsala (2015) and Radiant Orchid (2014).
The Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute®, Leatrice Eiseman, said of their selection, “Joined together Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”
If you are planning a wedding this year, please consider using colors inspired by Rose Quartz and Serenity. The two selections for the Color of the Year have a complementary color built in for flower arrangements that will be both beautiful and romantic.
